Stephen Ministry

Offering compassionate, Christ-centered care when you need it most

Life can be overwhelming—whether you’re facing emotional struggles, spiritual challenges, loss, illness, relationship difficulties, or simply a season where your strength feels depleted. At Conyers First, you don’t have to walk through those moments alone. Our Stephen Ministers are here to offer compassionate, Christ-centered care when you need it most.
Stephen Ministers are specially trained caregivers who come alongside individuals in difficult seasons to listen, encourage, pray, and provide steady, confidential support. Their ministry is rooted in the love of Jesus and grounded in the belief that God brings healing through caring relationships.

When you meet with a Stephen Minister, you’ll experience someone who will:

  • Listen without judgment
  • Pray with you and for you
  • Offer emotional and spiritual support
  • Walk with you through your struggle—not to fix it, but to help you carry it
  • Provide ongoing encouragement for as long as needed

This ministry is a powerful reminder that we are never alone—we are part of a community that cares deeply.

Our Mission Statement

In partnership with Stephen Ministry International, we are committed to offering distinctively Christian care to individuals who are hurting or in crisis. Our Stephen Ministers serve as the hands and feet of Jesus, extending His compassion, comfort, and hope to those who need it.

What Is Stephen Ministry?

Stephen Ministry is:

  • Completely confidential – Your story is safe, private, and protected
  • A one-on-one caring relationship offered by trained lay ministers
  • A response to Jesus’ command to “love one another as I have loved you”
  • A ministry focused on your unique needs, at your pace, in your season
  • A commitment to building a Christ-centered, caring, and supportive church community

Stephen Ministers are not professional counselors; they are compassionate Christians who walk beside you through life’s hardest moments—until the fog lifts, the burden lightens, and hope begins to shine again.
