About Conyers First Preschool

Conyers First Methodist Church Preschool is a joyful, nurturing weekday program devoted to supporting your child’s earliest and most important years of growth. We believe every child is created by God with unique potential, and it is our privilege to partner with families to help children flourish in all areas of development.

Our preschool is committed to:

  • Sharing Christian values through our daily words, actions, and lessons
  • Cultivating physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual growth
  • Providing a safe, loving environment where children feel seen, known, and cared for
  • Preparing students for elementary school with strong foundations in learning and character

Each day, our classrooms are filled with curiosity, creativity, laughter, and hands-on discovery. Your child will explore, learn, and build confidence while forming meaningful friendships that last.

Doodle Bugs

One-Year-Old Class

Our one-year-olds, known as the Doodle Bugs, grow in BIG ways throughout the year! This class focuses on meeting developmental milestones while giving little learners the love and attention they need.

Children experience:

  • Gentle routines and structure
  • Early social interactions
  • Simple art and sensory play
  • Beginning language and motor development

Teachers work closely with each child, supporting growth at their individual pace.

Leapin’ Lizards

Two-Year-Old Class

Our energetic two-year-olds are the Leapin’ Lizards! This stage is full of exploration and discovery, and our teachers work hard to create a fun, loving, and developmentally rich environment.

In this class, children enjoy:

  • Daily one-on-one time with teachers
  • Personalized skill development
  • Art projects and hands-on learning
  • Individual assessments geared to their pace
  • A happy, encouraging classroom atmosphere

This is also the first year students participate in our Arts Academy, experiencing art, music, and dance weekly.

Super Kids

Three-Year-Old Class

Our three-year-olds are affectionately called the Super Kids, and they live up to the name! Bursting with imagination and personality, these preschoolers thrive in a dynamic learning environment.

The Super Kids program blends:

  • Child-led exploration
  • Teacher-guided learning
  • Group play and social development
  • Early academic concepts
  • Creative and hands-on activities

Super Kids also enjoy weekly art, dance, music, and Spanish classes. This exciting year prepares children beautifully for Pre-K and beyond.

Explorers

Four-Year-Old Class

Our four-year-olds, known as the Explorers, are full of curiosity and growing independence. This final preschool year lays a strong foundation for kindergarten and beyond.

Explorers work on:

  • Early handwriting
  • Pre-reading and phonics
  • Beginning math concepts
  • Social skills and classroom readiness

By the end of the year, students feel confident, capable, and excited to step into “big school.”

Arts Academy

Creativity is a beautiful gift from God, and our Arts Academy helps students discover and develop their unique talents! Included in your child’s tuition, the Arts Academy introduces children to:

  • Creative Movement
  • Visual Arts
  • Music
  • Spanish

These hands-on, play-based experiences build confidence, imagination, and joy. Experiential learning is at the heart of our preschool because children learn best when they are active, engaged, and having fun!

Chapel

Each week, children gather for Chapel led by our Children’s Ministry Director and Conyers First church staff. Chapel gives children:

  • Bible stories taught at their level
  • A chance to learn about God’s love
  • Opportunities to pray, give thanks, and worship
  • Music, praise, and joyful storytelling
  • A safe space to grow spiritually

Chapel is one of the most treasured parts of our week—a time for the whole preschool to come together, sing, pray, and celebrate God’s goodness.

Field Trips

Thanks to our location in the heart of Olde Town Conyers, our preschool enjoys walkable field trips and on-campus experiences throughout the year. Because of car seat safety regulations, all off-site trips are local and walking distance.

Children love visiting:

  • The Nancy Guinn Memorial Library
  • Local Olde Town businesses
  • Preschool POPS events
  • Special-interest shops and community spaces

We also host special on-campus guests such as:

  • Firefighters
  • Police officers
  • Musicians
  • Artists
  • Animal experts
  • Community helpers

These experiences bring learning to life and introduce children to the wider world in safe, memorable ways.

Music

Our music program is a highlight of the preschool experience. All age levels take part in joyful musical activities that encourage rhythm, coordination, listening skills, and creativity. Children love singing, moving, playing instruments, and discovering the joy of worship through music.

Dance & Gymnastics

Led by Kids-In-Step Dance & Gymnastics, these high-energy classes help children develop coordination, balance, and confidence. Students learn age-appropriate dance steps and simple tumbling skills in a fun, encouraging environment. It’s a wonderful way to get the wiggles out while learning something new!

Spanish

Introducing young learners to a new language opens their minds and expands their world. Through simple phrases, songs, and playful activities, children quickly begin building early Spanish-speaking skills—much to the delight of their parents!
